Why does Family Promise need "hosts"?
On weekends and holidays, the Family Promise Day Center is closed so staff is off. During those times Family Promise needs volunteers to be present at the Promise House (2303 13th Street). This provides encouragement, engagement, and partnership from local churches and community members
What does a day, evening, and night host do?
- A day host can volunteer for one of two shifts: 7am - Noon or Noon –
5pm
- A evening host is from 5pm - 9pm
- A night host is from 9pm - 7am
Hosts may visit with the
families, read a book, watch TV, etc. The families do their own thing during
the day and may come and go on their own. The responsibility of the day
host is to remain at the Promise House during their designated time. The day
host has the key to the house-the families do not have a key.
